I was excited to see that Rise from www.reciperise.com featured my “Fancy Corn” on her recipe blog, so decided I would share it will all of our bargain fans since it is tasty, easy and of course a bargain. **Use as much corn as you want for this recipe and use ingredients for each cob***
one corn deshucked
splash of red or white wine
1 sprig of rosemary
dash of salt and pepper
1 teaspoon of olive oil
tinfoil
paper towel
Place one piece of tinfoil down and lay the paper towel on top of the tin foil. Splash red or white win on top of the paper towel. Place deshucked corn on top of the paper towel. Drizzle olive oil on the corn and a dash of salt and pepper. Lay one sprig of rosemary on corn and wrap up the corn in paper towel and tin foil. Place corn on the grill for about 10-15 minutes. You really will not burn the corn if you go for 15 minutes. Enjoy!

June 3rd, 2009This week at BiB we have endeavored to make your first weekend in June a great cultural kickoff to the summer! Go get your Shakespeare-on one day at Renn Fest, and spend the next in Virginia-Highlands. Voted the “Best Neighborhood Festival” in Creative Loafing and consistently revered by art professionals as one of the best artists’ markets in the southeast, Summerfest is a great event for the entire family. Make sure you stick around and explore the unique shopping and eclectic dining throughout the Virginia-Highland neighborhood. Summerfest celebrates the beginning of summer with diverse arts, great food, live musical performances and much more. The festival takes place along Virginia Avenue, in the heart of historic Virginia-Highland, and best of all, ITS FREE!!!! BUT, these fun weekends take a lot of hard work from Civic Association, so please give a donation, cheap can still be classy
Saturday, June 6, 2009, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Artist Market closes at 6:30 p.m.)

May 19th, 2009As Eco-Brokers, we are always looking for way to stay green. While we know that using energy efficient products in your home will save you money, its the day to day green and organic products that can be pricey.
After taking an Organic Urban Farming/Gardening class last week, I was excited about this planet-friendly lifestyle, but a little disillusioned by its not-so-wallet-friendly drawbacks. Plus, I decided a compost fertilized vegetable garden might be a little aggressive for my townhouse; BUT, I refused to accept defeat on the buying organic front. So, I enlisted the help of my mom, the Super-Save-Since-Before-it-was-chic, who was able to find these 2 very useful websites: http://www.mambosprouts.com/ and http://stonyfield.com/. Let us know if you have any good green money saving techniques!
