I drive past this place all the time but have never been, but tempted to go now with the coupon.  Have you been to Aqua Bistro before?  Post a comment below and let us know what you thought of it.

The traditional method for preparing sushi requires slices of raw fish to be held over unlit fires in order to secure that signature “uncooked” flavor. Explore such innovative foodsmithing with today’s GROUPON: for $10, you get $25 worth of pan-Asian cuisine and drinks at Aqua Bistro, located in Buckhead on Pharr Road.

Let Cajun baby calamari ($6) coo and giggle down your gullet before perusing Aqua Bistro’s massive menu of Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Korean dishes. Stir fry and noodle and rice options include classics such as tangy pad thai with chicken ($11), and the extensive sushi, nigiri, and sashimi menus offer creative plates such as a super crunchee roll with shrimp tempura and avocado mixed with cucumber and spicy mayo ($12.95). Grilled Chilean sea bass, one of the chef’s recommended dishes, swims through a sea of white spicy basil sauce and fresh vegetables ($20). Aqua Bistro also stocks a full bar to water thirsty diners’ mouth gardens.

Aqua Bistro’s interior is as sleek and well composed as its plates of pan-Asian delights. The dining room, which has a ceiling obscured by giant cloth sails, a wall of curved windows, and curvaceous stools along the bar, is lit with tiny, glowing orbs as well as a giant fabric column filled with gnomes waving neon glowsticks. Outdoor seating is also available for watching sunsets, people, or people painting sunsets.

Raise your own zealously guarded flagon with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $25 worth of drinks and modern tavern dining at Tavern 99 in Buckhead.

Patrons at Tavern 99 will immediately notice the upscale menu options. Along with bar classics such as hot wings ($8.99), burgers (starting at $8.99), and fish and chips ($11.99), Tavern 99 offers fried-calamari starters ($9.99) and adventurous pub entrees such as seared mahi with spinach and black beans ($12.99) and specialty sandwiches such as pulled-pork bánh mì ($10.99) and the Cuban ($8.99). Check the specials for weekday deals. Try $2 Blue Moon drafts on Wednesday and $13 buckets of Corona and Corona Light on Tuesday (five bottles per bucket), or throw weekday-based caution to the wind and plow through the 27 beers on tap (prices vary). A signature cocktail and dessert are the best reward for resisting the urge to swap a friend’s drink with an enemy’s drink, so have a slice of key-lime pie ($6.99) and a Peachtree Tea (sweet-tea vodka and peach schnapps with a lemon and mint garnish, $8.50).

Unwind in the wood-paneled chambers of Tavern 99 in the rain, and take advantage of the two levels of patio during sunny nights and moonlit days in the company of friends who practice the ancient art of telling ridiculous truths and universal lies to fellow tavern patrons.

This Groupon is not valid for any of Tavern 99’s weekly specials

Today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $30 worth of modern Italian dishes, drinks, and wood-burning, brick-oven pizzas at Via. The multilevel Buckhead space boasts a snazzy bar, serene interior, and well-trained chef.

Four flavorful salads temper aggressive appetites. Try a wedge salad, with scallions, bacon, tomatoes, and blue cheese ($6), or an herby caprese salad of mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, red onions, and cucumber ($8). The menu is rife with small plates: spinach ravioli ($6), hummus ($6), or mussels di Napoli ($8) are sociable savories. Via specializes in a selection of freshly made pizzas from a wood-burning ceramic-brick oven. They come smothered in San Marzano tomato sauce and authentic buffalo mozzarella cheese. Keep it simple with a margherita ($10), or touch all taste buds with the prosciutto and fig ($14). Crème-brûlée cheesecake ($6), tiramisu ($5), or a five-layer chocolate cake ($5) are sweet afterthoughts.

Kurt and I have been having fun trying new restaurants and saving money with my New Years Resolution of dining out on coupons only.  This past weekend we saved $30 on our dinner bill at Portofino with one of my coupons so you don’t have to sacrifice on going out to the fancier places.  I have been stockpiling dining coupons since the begining of the year so we have quite the variety of places to pick from when we want to go out to dinner.    I have purchased tons of dining coupons now from Groupon.  And today’s Groupon is HALF OFF at Food 101 on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.

    Groupon’s Review

Without a sense of culinary adventure, mankind would never know the magic of marshmallow pies or speckled eggs from speckled hens. Today’s Groupon reminds the human tongue of food’s inventive potential. For $20, you get $40 worth of carefully conceived recipes and libations at Food 101 on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.

Food 101 enters its 10th year under the leadership of Executive Chef Justin Keith, whose passage through the Scottsdale Culinary Institute has inspired a passion for beautifully articulated food creations. Test your cravings against Chef Keith’s seasonally-changing dinner menu, which starts with snack-sized portions of Marcona almonds and house-made pickles ($3 each), alongside appetizer rounds of citrus-cured salmon and Sonoma duck prosciutto ($4). James River cherrystone clams with artichoke hearts and Spanish chorizo ($12) and a study of beets, a trio of raw, salt-roasted, and pickled beets in goat cheese, orange oil, and mint ($7) continue the pre-feast. The entree bell sounds to the enticing aromas and tangible tastes of Georgia wild shrimp & grits, a heaping plate complemented by andouille sausage, okra, and caramelized onions in a roasted-tomato gravy ($17), while cylindrically inclined diners can bask in the geometry of the Kobe-beef-brisket burrito with cilantro-lime slaw and queso fresco ($18).

Looking to dine out for HALF OFF and enjoy a great outdoor patio?   I scouted this daily deal on ScoutMob for 50% OFF your bill at Babs restaurant in Midtown.  I have never been, but after reading the review I am very curious….  and they mentioned there is plenty of FREE parking which is always a great bonus.

Deal Expires: 6/02/2010 $20 max discount. Can’t combine offers. Dine in only. Excludes catering.

    Scout Mob’s Review on Babs:

Scoop: In the heard of Midtown, tucked underneath one of Juniper Street’s charming turn-of-the-century houses, Babs is one of the most curious finds a Scoutmobster can happen upon for a meal. They’re known as much for their stellar brunches as they are the quirky atmosphere and staff. The eccentric vibe makes perfect sense once you realize who this tiny nook is named after (hint: it ain’t Streisand). Appropriately enough, this April Fool’s Day marked their sixth anniversary, so it’s the perfect season to celebrate on the patio at Babs. Grab a table by the Koi pond, sip on a Red Zinger tea, and marvel at the fact that deliciously eccentric and well-hidden gems like this can hang in for the long haul in Atlanta.
