We have told you about Fulton County Free Saturdays at the High, but NOW is a perfect time to take advantage of this bargain.  This is the opening weekend of the Monet Water Lilies Exhibit at the High.  When you consider that one of Monet’s water lily paintings sold for £18.5 million in June ‘07, and another for £41 million in June ‘08, getting to see these masterpieces for FREE in June ‘09 is quite a steal!

Note: This event is only free for Fulton County Residents or students attending college or university in Fulton Country. Must show college ID or proof of residency.

Terracotta_lcon In the past we have posted about Fulton Free Saturdays at the High Museum of Art, but we highly recommend you take advantage of this awesome bargain this weekend!  Here is the deal: Fulton County residents who show proof of residency and students of schools, colleges and universities located inside Fulton County may view our current special exhibitions as well as the Permanent Collection. This offer is available for walk-up ticket purchases only.

This is the last weekend to see the Terracotta Warriors for free!  The exhibit ends April 19th, so this is one of your final chances to take advantage of this amazing experience, and for free no less!  I am lucky enough to have seen the soldiers in Xi’an, as well as at the exhibit here, and I can say that the High does a fantastic job of bringing this amazing display to life.  Don’t miss out!!!!

aquariumtut_ticketLooks like rain (and maybe even snow!) all weekend, but don’t just sit on the couch!  We’ve found a way for you to get out, have some fun, get some culture and NOT BREAK THE BANK!  The aquarium/King Tut combo tickets allows you to explore treasures of the deep and tokens of the past for almost half the price!  A ticket to the civic center Tut exhibit is $32.50 and the aquarium is $26, but you can do both for only $39.00–nearly a $20 savings!!!  While $40 is certainly not pocket change, the adventure is worth every penny!

See the Georgia Aquarium’s new sand tiger sharks, then explore the treasures of the ruler of the Sands of Egypt, King Tut, at the Atlanta Civic Center.  For a limited time, you can experience two world-class attractions with this great offer.  Free transportation is available between the Aquarium and Civic Center on the Tut Trolley/Shark Shuttle Thursday-Sunday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. From March 28-April 11, the shuttle will be available everyday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes. Pick-up is located at the front and back of the Aquarium, Atlanta Civic Center and the Civic Center Marta stop.
