I wanted to let you know about a FREE upcoming art/film show this Friday, October 2nd at Wonderroot (www.wonderroot.org). Its a exhibition which includes 20 b&w fiber prints and a 16mm film called Mothers of a Nation produced by Clear Films. The exhibition is about a group of Ugandan women living with HIV who, despite the suffering and isolation that comes with having the disease have united to empower themselves through sustainable farming methods. My cousin, Ansley, shot the movie and stills this winter and spring while she worked on a sustainable agriculture project with the group of women in Jinja, Uganda. The film and exhibition relays an important message not only to people suffering with HIV, but to everyone around the world. Sustainable agriculture, organic food and information about the importance of nutrition are not often topic of conversation in under served communities, including those of Atlanta.
They have partnered with two non-profits, one of which is an Atlanta based organization called The Ugandan American Partnership Organization (www.theuapo.org) and Development in Gardening (www.developmentingardening. org). Wonderroot is an important place for the exhibition to be held because of its mission to unite artists and community to inspire positive social change.
Click here for a sneak peak of a trailer of the film and more info on the FREE Friday night show. Great date night cultural activity to add to your social calendar. Hope to see you there!

Everyone who knows me knows I love my vino. My wedding was wine themed and my vacations revolve around where we can go for an incredible wine tasting experience. But my constant quest is where to find the perfect bottle of vino for under $10. Costco is my Go To warehouse for bargain wine. I find that typically the wines are several dollars less than they are at the grocery. The only downfall is that they don’t give you a case discount.
I am going to open this one up to our B in B audience for you to post your favorite wine label for under $10 and where do you buy it?
Please post a comment and let us know why you love your wine selection. And if you need some to try before you submit a review click here and visit the Wine Peeps.

This may seem random that a moving company made my short list of favorite things, but moving is very top of mind for me right now. I have moved 3 times in the past year and a half and I am in the midst of a move this week. Between myself and my real estate clients we have tried out several moving companies. Last year when I was moving I was in need of a moving company and a storage facility, which is how I came across Truck and i which does both. They have their own pod system that they call vaults where they store your stuff in a huge air conditioned warehouse. The best part is it they fully load and unload the vaults for you. Beyond their storage capabilities, they are very professional, on time and are quick. And when time is money you want them to be efficient. They have a policy that if something gets broken in your move that the crew has to pay out of their own pockets to replace your item so needless to say they are very careful with your stuff. I have used them for my past 2 moves and have them lined up for my third.I let them know that I was featuring them on my blog this week and they are going to give a special discount for Bargain In Buckhead followers. Just call my contact Yolanda (404)355-5151 to discuss your moving needs. Click here to check out their website. And if you are looking for cheap boxes for you move check out Craigslist tons of people are trying to get rid of their boxes for FREE!

Our favorite things continues with satisfying your sweet tooth craving. This year for my birthday I wanted to have custom cupcakes to add a little extra flare to my party. So I called around to all of the local Buckhead bakeries and could not find any place that would sell them for under $2 a cupcake. RecipeRise.Com to the rescue as she created the cutest cupcakes for me and was the best bargain in town. She charges $18 for a dozen or $1.50 per cupcake. These cupcakes were a huge hit at my party with the yummy homeade icing and cute design. These sunflower cupcakes had cute mini oreos in the center for an extra little tasty treat. She will create whatever design your want or help you brainstorm ideas to go along with your theme.Click here to see all of her creations and to find out more about Rise’s Cups.
