April 2nd, 2009Entertainment for Kids, Home Improvements
Although neither Claire nor myself have children, we are fortunate to have our siblings clue us in on some of the fun free and cheap kid activities to keep us on the insider parent track.
Robby and Tyler were just telling me last night about the Kids Workshops at the Home Depot, so I went online to find out more. It just so happens there is a Bird House Building workshop this Saturday, April 4th from 9AM-12PM. This is the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone by knocking out your Home Depot weekend shopping list and having some quality time and free entertainment for your children.
All Home Depot locations participate in these FREE kids workshops and they are held on the first Saturday of every month!
This is intended for children between 5 and 12 years old. The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between parents and their children.
In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.
Love to hear your comments if you have been to one of these workshops before or if you are going this weekend.
