After I did a little grocery shopping I was loading up my car and spotted the words Kids Eat Free in the window of Jersey Mikes, so I rushed inside to find out more  details.  This offer is valid only on Sundays and the “parent” must order a sub, chips and drink to qualify. In return your child will recieve a kid’s sub, a drink and a cookie for FREE.  All Jersey Mikes are independently owned so this is the ony location I know of at this timet offering the Kids Eat Free promotion. It is located in the shopping center on the corner of Howell Mill and Collier in Buckhead.

aquariumtut_ticketLooks like rain (and maybe even snow!) all weekend, but don’t just sit on the couch!  We’ve found a way for you to get out, have some fun, get some culture and NOT BREAK THE BANK!  The aquarium/King Tut combo tickets allows you to explore treasures of the deep and tokens of the past for almost half the price!  A ticket to the civic center Tut exhibit is $32.50 and the aquarium is $26, but you can do both for only $39.00–nearly a $20 savings!!!  While $40 is certainly not pocket change, the adventure is worth every penny!

See the Georgia Aquarium’s new sand tiger sharks, then explore the treasures of the ruler of the Sands of Egypt, King Tut, at the Atlanta Civic Center.  For a limited time, you can experience two world-class attractions with this great offer.  Free transportation is available between the Aquarium and Civic Center on the Tut Trolley/Shark Shuttle Thursday-Sunday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. From March 28-April 11, the shuttle will be available everyday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes. Pick-up is located at the front and back of the Aquarium, Atlanta Civic Center and the Civic Center Marta stop.

Tickets are available at the Aquarium box office, online at georgiaaquarium.org and at the Civic Center box office. Tickets can also be purchased through the Aquarium Call Center at 404.581.4000. Please select a date and time to visit the King Tut exhibit. You may visit the Aquarium the same day or any time within 7 days of your King Tut visit. Offer ends May 8, 2009.

tennis-racketMy friend Kate inspired this post as she is just learning to play tennis and was asking me where she could plug in to play around town.  ALTA, USTA, KSwiss and T2 are all popular leagues, but for those who don’t want to commit to a team and still play matches you should check out Bitsy Grant’s Round Robins. They are held every Friday night and Sunday afternoons.   It only costs $7 or $8 depending on which day you choose.   These round robins attract everyone from the low intermediate to the very advanced.  So pick up your racket and your telephone and call Mary Craven at the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center 770-662-6162 to find out more info or to reserve your spot.

bra2Your stock portfolio might not be too strong right now, but there is no reason your undergarments shouldn’t be!  Intimacy, at Phipps Plaza, is having a huge sale right now—SAVE UP TO 70% on bras, panties, sleepwear and robes; PLUS 10% OFF when you bring a friend.   Sale started last week and goes until supplies last, and there are definitely “supplies” left to be had, but hurry!  So if the economy has you down in the dumps, get the “up-lift” you’ve been needing from Intimacy!

DON’T FORGET, Intimacy also offers FREE bra fittings all the time!  While the brands they offer are not cheap when not on sale, some say you can’t put a price on the perfect bra—and if it boosts your ladies as well as your confidence, I would agree!

colossal-volume-mascaraI have to credit my sister with introducing me to this great bargain.  As someone who normally lives by Dior or Lash Injection mascara, her conviction for this product speaks volumes.  The experts at Maybelline, who brought us iconic products like Great Lash and Full N’ Soft, are at it again with the newest mascara product, COLOSSAL VOLUM’ EXPRESS.  It’s hard to miss in its bright yellow packaging, but it’s even more striking on your lashes!  My sister even had someone ask if “those [were her] real lashes?”  I’ve always struggles to add length and thickness to my somewhat stubby lashes, and I am so impressed with this product.  AND, all this for under $10 at your local drug store!!!!!  A mere $7.49 at most Walgreens and CVS, and only $5.99 on drugstore.com (also a great place for bargain hunting!)

Do you have any drugstore bargain products that you use and would recommend over the department store brands? Please post a comment and share your beauty bargain secret.

The former Buckhead hot-spot McDuff’s was revamped by the crew from East Andrew’s and offers some good deals on food and drink: $1 drafts always and a $6-9 food menu, serving lunch, dinner and late night.  While still a good old Irish Pub, Stout has upped the ante with 19 HD TVs  and international satellite-an ideal place to watch a game (or so they sayJ )  There are also pool tables, darts, Golden Tee, Galaga and Pacman.

    penny_front_40227_th

It has probably been a while since you have purchased something for ONE penny but every Sunday and Monday at Publix you have your chance to be a true ”penny pintcher” with the Publix Mystery Coupon.  My dad introduced me to the penny item several years ago and it has been fun for both of us to report to eachother what the mystery product is that week.

This coupon is in the AJC every Sunday on the front of the Publix ad section of the paper but often times the cashiers don’t care if you have the coupon or not you just need to tell them to key in the penny item.

So if you are curious what a penny buys you stop into your Publix today or any other Sunday or Monday to solve the mystery.
